How to choose a smart phone .?

How to buy a smart phone ?? or what exactly to look in a smartphone before buying ??

As the phones are getting smarter and smarter, the users are becoming naiver and naiver. In the so called feature-phone-era or the Nokia-era, all that one used to look in a phone is if it has got a long battery, mp3 player, phone-book capacity and a good camera if it a high-end phone. But now things have changed entirely.
One can only compare today's smart phone to a small computer that goes into your pockets. in-numerous new features have been introduced into it. One might think, should i be happy about these new features or should i be confused in a way what to buy if i am buying one. The remaining part of the article explains a few key features of a smart phone which will help the readers in buying a smart phone without any confusion or atleast a little.

Touch Phone:
When the vendor claims a phone has got touch feature in it, do not just go blindly with it. There are two types of touch phones- The Capacitive and The Resistive. Let's not go into the technical part of it but always prefer the Capacitive if you can afford one. The capacitive is the one which you can comfortably access with your fingers. On the other hand, to use a resistive touch phone, you will have to need a stylus.

Operating System:
This might sound a little weird to most of us. What has an operating system got to do with a mobile phone? Atleast for the naive ones. Even the older Nokia feature phones had an operating system inside them called the Symbian but nobody really stressed on it. Again, we are not here to compare the insides of an operating system and let's presume that all the operating systems are one and the same in terms of efficiency- Android, iOS, WindowsPhone, Blackberry, Ovi, etc., etc.,
One can choose an operating system by knowing about the number of applications it has got in the app store or i would say, number of Free Useful Applications in the app store.

iPhone app store has the largest application base while Android has more number of free applications considering the fact that it's an open-source software.

Camera:
Don't just go with the resolution of the camera. 5MP is a decent Resolution. More than that is not necessary unless you want to use your smart phones for photography and i bet nobody does that. Check for other features like image stabilization, auto-focus, geo-tagging, night-mode, etc.,

HD recording is one important feature. High-End smart phones support upto 1080p recording. Check if your smart phone can do HD.

3G Support
Many people have this question-what exactly is 3G ? To put it in a simple way, 3G is an enhanced mobile network which supports faster Video-Calling, file sharing, etc., Go for 3G supported smartphone.

Memory:
Storage Memory comes in two forms- Internal and External. Internal comes with the phone on-board where as external is the memory card we plug in. Check for the total internal memory the phone is offering and also the total memory it can be expandable to.

RAM:
Higher the RAM, faster and costlier your device is. Nothing more to tell on this one.

Processor:
Higher the clock speed (Mentioned in GHz) is, faster your device is. you can go for a dual-core processor if you are going for a high end phone.

Media & Phonebook:
Almost all the smart-phones in the market today, support good number of media files. you do not have to think before taking a call on this one. Phonebook also supports infinity contacts storage.

Other than the above mentioned features, check if your smartphone supports video-calling, conference, good battery life, bluetooth, wi-fi. These are the key features but the list goes on and on.

Happy Buying :-)
